Books Read Since Last Update
I have read 3 ARCs since my last update.

Castles in Their Bones by Laura Sebastian (was published February 1, reviewed January 24)
I loved this one so much! It’s the story of triplet princesses who are sent to marry kings/princes in three neighboring kingdoms with the ultimate goal of conquering all of the kingdoms to expense their mother’s empire. Each of the individual stories is a fairly typical, but well done, YA fantasy with tropes you’ll recognize. But somehow weaving them together and jumping from story to story totally drew me in. I was completely hooked and gave it an easy 5 stars. This is supposed to be the beginning of a trilogy and I can’t wait for the next one. You can read my full review here.
The Gaps by Leanne Hall (was published February 8, reviewed February 6)
This book suffered from it just not being what I was expecting. I thought I was in for a bit of a mystery about a missing girl but instead it was totally focused on how her classmates were dealing with the disappearance. This could have been ok but one of the main characters was seriously into modern art. I don’t like modern art so this being a huge focus of the story just didn’t work for me. I wasn’t the target audience but it wasn’t a bad book. I ended up giving it 3 stars and you can read my full review here.
Bright Ruined Things by Samantha Cohoe (was published February 15, reviewed February 13)
This was a boring book. It had a ridiculously slow plot and characters I didn’t care about. I finished this a few days ago and I already barely remember it. I gave it 2 stars, you can read my full review here.
Approvals Since Last Update
I received two ARC approvals since my last update and they’re two that I was really excited for. First, I received Misrule by Heather Walter. This is the sequel to Malice which I was reading when I got the approval. I loved the first book and look forward to this next one. Then, I received Fevered Star by Rebecca Roanhorse. I couldn’t be more excited to jump into this sequel to Black Sun, one of my favorite books of 2021.
Current NetGalley Shelf
I currently have 6 books sitting on my NetGalley shelf. Between the books I’m planning to read to finish out February and my TBR for the March Trope-ical readathon, I’ll read all of these! I’ve started requesting books on NetGalley again, we’ll see what show up here next.
