Weekly Posts, WWW Wednesday

WWW Wednesday – May 24, 2023

Happy Wednesday! If you’re unfamiliar with WWW Wednesday, it’s a weekly blog meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. The three W’s are simple:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Current Reads

I’m currently reading In the Lives of Puppets by TJ Klune. This is one of my most anticipated releases of the year (maybe the most) and I’m about halfway through and really struggling. I’m so disappointed but this one is just not for me. The plot is super slow which I guess is true of all of Klune’s books but in the others, I really cared about the characters. I don’t care at all about these characters. It feels like they’re trying too hard and the Pinocchio part is forced. I just don’t like it. I would probably have already DNF’d if it wasn’t one of my favorite authors. I will finish it and I’m hoping it can make a comeback but things are not looking good.

Recently Finished

It’s been way too long since I wrote a WWW Wednesday post so just going with the last week, I finished two books. Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir was a reread and I loved it again. I picked this up for a plane ride and then to read while knitting (gotta love a large print reread for that) and had a great time once again. The Martian is better but this is also a great read.

Then I finished Paper Girls by Brian K. Vaughan with volume 6. This series was weird but not bad. I gave most of the volumes including this one 3 stars. It was fine and I was happy to finish it off.

Up Next

I’m pretty sure my next read will be Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. My library hold finally came in about a week ago so I better get reading soon or there will be another long wait. The premise sounds interesting and the reviews are wonderful, I have high hopes.
