Current Reads

I’m currently reading Flamefall by Rosaria Munda. This is the sequel to Fireborne which I read in January. I’m really enjoying the sequel so far, maybe more than the first book. I still think this series has 5 star potential and I could really use a 5 star read, I don’t have any in 2023 yet. I’m about a quarter into it and it’s going quick, probably will finish tomorrow or Friday.

Recently Finished

I finished 3 books this week! A good start to the Trope-ical Readathon even if not quite as good as I wanted.

I started with Half a Soul by Olivia Atwater. This was very cute although a little forgettable, I didn’t get super attached to the characters. I gave it 4 stars.

Then I started The Stardust Thief by Chelsea Abdullah although it was the 3rd book I finished. I really didn’t like this one. It was trying to hard to bridge that YA/adult fantasy gap and ended up with the fun YA writing but lacked world building and I wasn’t connected to the characters at all. I gave it 2 stars.

While struggling through The Stardust Thief, I picked up Homicide and Halo-Halo by Mia P Manansala. I didn’t like this as much as the first one but it was still really fun. I gave it 3 stars.

I have no idea what I’ll be in the mood for but it will be something from my Trope-ical Readathon TBR.
