WWW Wednesday – March 1, 2023

Happy Wednesday! If you’re unfamiliar with WWW Wednesday, it’s a weekly blog meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. The three W’s are simple:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Current Reads

Nothing but not for long! I finished a book last night and haven’t yet started another one.

Recently Finished

I finished 4 books this week! I’m finally feeling excited about reading and spending a couple hours a day reading again, it’s been great.

First, I finished Leviathan Wakes by James SA Corey. I really enjoyed this one and I’m excited to continue the series. I actually picked up The Butcher of Anderson Station which is a short story that serves as book 1.5 of this series shortly afterwards. I enjoyed both of these a lot. I gave both 4 stars and already have book 2 on hold at the library.

Then I read Check Please by Ngozi Ukazu. This graphic novel was cute but the pacing didn’t work for me, it was way too rushed. Two years of college do not belong in a 240 page graphic novel. I gave it 3 stars and will probably read the next one.

Then last night I finished Empire of Ivory by Naomi Novik which is the fourth book in the Temeraire series. I love Temeraire and I think this is my favorite book yet. I gave this one 4 stars, this series seems to be a consistent 4 stars from me.

Up Next

The Trope-ical Readathon starts today! I’m very excited to get reading but very undecided where to start, I keep changing my mind. Most likely Blade of Secrets or Half a Soul but it could be any of the following. If you want to join the fun, registration is still open!
