Happy Tuesday! It’s time for Top Ten Tuesday, the weekly feature run by That Artsy Reader Girl where you choose ten books to fit a weekly prompt. This week is a freebie around genres. In honor of the Trope-ical Readathon starting tomorrow (you can still sign up here!!) and me being on Team Science Fiction, I’m going with my favorite sci-fi reads. Sci-fi is a newish genre for me and one I’m really loving. Here are my top ten favorites in no particular order.

- The Martian by Andy Weir
- Red Rising by Pierce Brown
- A Thousand Pieces of You (Firebird Trilogy) by Claudia Gray
- Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
- Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao
- Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
- Leviathan Wakes by James SA Corey
- Hunt the Stars (Starlight’s Shadow Series) by Jessie Mihalik
- Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
- A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers
Andy Weir is a genius, in my opinion.

No argument from me. The Martian is a contender for my favorite book of all time. He needs to get writing so I can read more!

I love sci-fi! I need to read more of it. I’ve only read a few on this list but I still REALLY want to read Red Rising, Hail Mary, and Leviathan Wakes.

Iron Widow was great, so different. It was one of my top books of 2021 and I’m so excited for the sequel to finally be released this year!

Sci-Fi is admittedly not a genre I read a whole lot of: some of my favourites though are the Villains duology by VE Schwab (which fall just slightly more on the Sci-Fi side of SFF) and the Unwind series by Neal Shusterman.

I’m not really a sci-fi person, but I loved Illuminae. Such a well crafted story.
