Top Ten Tuesday – 2022 New-to-Me Authors

Happy Tuesday! It’s time for Top Ten Tuesday, the weekly feature run by That Artsy Reader Girl where you choose ten books to fit a weekly prompt. This week’s prompt is 2022 new-to-me authors. I read 41 new-to-me authors in 2022. Here are my 10 favorites in chronological order.

Heather Walter – I read Malice and Misrule in early 2022 and gave them 4 and 5 stars, respectively. It was such an interesting idea and well executed. I look forward to reading whatever she comes up with next.

Robin Hobb – I read the first two books in the Realm of the Elderlings in 2022 and I recently finished reading the third. I really enjoy this world and her writing style.

Jessie Mihalik – I devoured the first two books in this series and I’m anticipating the release of the third in the spring. This sci-fi romance is so much fun.

Gabrielle Zevin – Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow was one of my top books in 2022. I really liked Zevin’s writing style. I wish some of her backlist sounded more appealing.

T Kingfisher – Nettle and Bone was delightfully weird. I look forward to reading more of Kingfisher’s work.

Catherine Doyle and Katherine Webber – I didn’t know if I should include this author pair but I loved this book and look forward to the next one.

Mia P Manansala – She gets a spot here for not only writing a fun book but making me think I might enjoy a whole new genre after I picked up my first cozy mystery.

Emily St. John Mandel – I read Station Eleven towards the end of the year and really enjoyed it. I plan to pick up more books by this author.

Angie Hockman – Shipped was the only romance that got 5 stars from me last year. So much fun!

Brandon Sanderson – I read Warbreaker as my first taste of Sanderson and his Cosmere. OK, I get the hype and will be continuing for sure.
