Happy Tuesday! It’s time for Top Ten Tuesday, the weekly feature run by That Artsy Reader Girl where you choose ten books to fit a weekly prompt. This week’s prompt is books I loved so much I had to get a copy for my personal library. This is one that works particularly well for me because I read almost exclusively from the library. I have less than a shelf of books and they are only my true favorites that I plan to reread again and again plus a couple the library doesn’t have that I will sell or donate after reading. So there aren’t 10 but here are the books I adore and actually own so I can reread whenever the mood strikes.

- A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray (I need to buy the other 2)
- Harry Potter series
- The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
- The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins
- Matchmaking for Beginners by Maddie Dawson
- The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
- The Martian by Andy Weir
The Harry Potter series is one of the rare exceptions of books that I have reread.

The Martian was excellent! Have you seen the film?

I haven’t and I’m a little scared to watch it, I love the book and don’t want to ruin it!

It was a great film that stayed true to the original story. But no pressure to watch it. 🙂

I actually borrowed both the Harry Potter series and The Hunger Games from my sister, so they’re books I love but don’t actually own my own copies of! I did start collecting the 20th anniversary editions, but then all the stuff about JK Rowling’s transphobia came out, and I stopped.

That’s one of the reasons I’ll never let those go, I refuse to give her any more money. But my original books I got after waiting at midnight for the release with my friends will always be mine.

Same! I donate the majority of the paper books I read to the library when I’m done with them. I have to really enjoy a book in order to hold onto it. I have the HP and HG series on my shelf as well as THE HOUSE IN THE CERULEAN SEA (although I STILL haven’t read it).
Happy TTT!

I so agree with HP, The Hunger Games, and TTW. I have a cope of those too. I haven’t read any of the others, but they’re on my TBR.

Less than a shelf of books? I admire your restraint. I rarely reread books but I still enjoy collecting them.

To be fair, I also typically have 20-30 library books out. I don’t let myself buy a book my library owns unless I’m ready for a first reread. And yes, I did set these as rules for myself or I’d own a library.
