WWW Wednesday – July 27, 2022

Happy Wednesday!  If you’re unfamiliar with WWW Wednesday, it’s a weekly blog meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. The three W’s are simple:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Current Reads

My main current read is Flash Fire by TJ Klune. This is the final book is the Extraordinaries trilogy, it was just released last week. I’m having such a good time, this books are so funny. I’ve been working crazy hours so I haven’t read as much as I’d like but I’m about halfway and should finish in the next few days.

I’ve only read one chapter of my reread of Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins but I’m looking at a weird gap between finishing Flash Fire and my August readathon so I am thinking I might knock out the rest this weekend.

Recently Finished

The only book I finished this week was Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin. I loved this! The writing was beautiful, the idea was different and the characters were wonderful. I had a great time with it even though it totally devastated me and I broke down sobbing at one point. There were a few points that were a little slow, one section in particular, but I really enjoyed my overall reading experience. It came out a very high 4.5 stars with CAWPILE and I rounded up to 5 on Goodreads.

Up Next

The Trope-ical readathon kicks off on Monday, August 1st. I plan to start over the weekend though as you’re allowed to count a book if you read most of it in August, you just don’t get the points for the pages. So I think I’ll be finishing Flash Fire, likely bingeing the remainder of my Catching Fire reread and then turning to this TBR (more info in this post). I want to start with a big book and since the pages don’t count until Monday, I’m thinking I’ll go with Kaikeyi which I think will be the slowest read.
