WWW Wednesday – May 25, 2022

Happy Wednesday! If you’re unfamiliar with WWW Wednesday, it’s a weekly blog meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. The three W’s are simple:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Current Reads

My main current read is Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb. I’m making progress but it’s been slow. I didn’t feel great over the weekend and I’ve been distracted by other things. I am enjoying it and trying not to force my way through it. It’s one of those that I always enjoy when I pick it up but it’s not really calling me a lot of the time. Definitely trying to knock it out by the end of the month but finding time to enjoy dense fantasy while in a reading slump is not the easiest.

Last night I started my ARC of My Mechanical Romance by Alexene Farol Follmuth which will be published 5/31. This is a quick read, I made a big dent in one night. I can’t decide what I think though, I’m a little torn between it being a cute plot and the mechanical engineer in me who keeps questioning everything. We’ll see where I land in the end.

I am technically still working on my reread of Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I read a couple pages but not calling my name most nights. I know it’s there when I need it and that’s the whole purpose of my on-going comfort rereads.

Recently Finished

Nothing! I still haven’t finished a book in May. Oh well.

Up Next

This will depend a lot on whether I pick up another book in May (looking like a no) since in June is Whateverathon and I’m super excited. Regardless, I do have an ARC I need to knock out by June 7th so it might be Happily Ever Island either way. This sounds fun and summery, a good summer read.

  1. My Mechanical Romance and Happily Ever Island look particularly good from the covers. Nothing like being a little bit torn on a book – makes for a longer review!

    Have a great week!
