Weekly Posts, WWW Wednesday

WWW Wednesday – March 23, 2022

Happy Wednesday! If you’re unfamiliar with WWW Wednesday, it’s a weekly blog meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. The three W’s are simple:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Current Reads

I’m currently reading Fevered Star by Rebecca Roanhorse. It’s really good, I’m loving it almost as much as Black Sun, hoping it ends with some action though. I think I’ll finish tonight but we’ll see, a terrible cold has been knocking me out at like 8:00 every night which has really put a damper on my reading.

I am technically still working on my reread of Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins but I haven’t read any of it in March, instead picking up my books for the Trope-ical Readathon.

Recently Finished

I slowed down a little bit with my cold but still finished two books in the last week

I finished my reread of Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse in preparation for reading Fevered Star. I have it another 5 stars. I really love how unique this world and characters are. There’s lots of action and you never really know who is good and who is bad. It’s just fantastic.

Then I listened to the audiobook of This is Kind of an Epic Love Story by Kacen Callender. Oh boy, I hated this and gave it 1 star. These characters were terrible and didn’t’ even seem like real people, things constantly didn’t make any sense. I was annoyed with the characters, the one smut scene was so incredibly cringey and unnecessary, and I’ve never read a book with so many pop culture references. It was terrible but I love Felix Ever After by the same author so apparently they have learned some things and improved. I won’t be reading any more backlist but definitely would pick up a new book by them.

Up Next

I really don’t know what I plan to pick up next even though that is probably tomorrow. Here are the top contenders from my Trope-ical Readathon TBR. As you can see, I haven’t really narrowed it down.
