WWW Wednesday – November 3, 2021

Happy WWW Wednesday! If you’re unfamiliar with WWW Wednesday, it’s a weekly blog meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. The three W’s are simple:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Current Reads

I started A Light in the Sky by Shina Reynolds Monday night. This is a new YA fantasy that I got the ARC from NetGalley and it will be released next week. I’m enjoying it so far but it is a bit of a chunker.

I’m also continuing my reread of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I’m slowly making my way through, reading a little here and there.

Recently Finished

I finished two ARCs in the last week and hit my annual goal of 100 books!

First, I finished All of Us Villains by Amanda Foody and Christine Lynn Herman. This is a dark YA fantasy that is essentially The Hunger Games with magic. I have mixed feelings on this one and went back and forth on my rating but ended at 3 stars as I don’t plan to continue the series but did enjoy my time. You can see my full review here.

Then I read A Marvellous Light by Freya Marske over the weekend. This was actually released yesterday and I only got the ARC on NetGalley a week ahead but I was so excited to read it that I jumped on it right away. This YA fantasy in early 1900s England with a M/M romance and hint of mystery was a delightfully fun read. It’s an excellent debut and a nice light fantasy, I gave it 4 stars. You can read my full review here.

Up Next

I’ll eventually get tired of including Defy the Night by Brigid Kemmerer and actually read it but I’ve been on a bit of a NetGalley kick lately. So if I continue being in the mood for ARCs, the next one to be published will be Loyalty, Love and Vermouth by Eric Peterson.
