Happy WWW Wednesday! If you’re unfamiliar with WWW Wednesday, it’s a weekly blog meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words. The three W’s are simple:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
Current Reads
I finished two books yesterday so I actually don’t have any current reads.
I haven’t read any more of The Mask of Mirrors by M.A. Carrick but still have it on pause.
Recently Finished
I finished 4 books in the last week to finish off August and the Trope-ical Readathon.
First I finished All the Ever Afters by Danielle Teller. This was an interesting Cinderella retelling that follows the story of Cinderella’s stepmother. I gave it 3.5 stars. You can see my full review here.
Then I finished up the last Harry Potter book. I reread this series every couple of years, it’s such a comfort and I love it. I don’t support the author in any way and only read the books I already own but it’s part of my childhood and I know I’ll be back reading them again soon.
Then I finished the audiobook of The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. Oh boy, I didn’t like this. It was a predictable sappy, cheesy teen romance awkwardly interspersed with life lessons and motivational stories. It didn’t work for me at all, I don’t understand the hype. I gave it 2 stars.
Lastly, I finished Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston last night. I loved this new middle grade fantasy and will be posting a full review soon.
Up Next
I’m planning to read a couple or ARCs next. I think I’ll start Where the Stars Sing by Aminah Fox tonight. I’m a little scared because the Goodreads rating is really low but it’s only based on a few reviews so trying to go in with an open mind. I’m also planning to start Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim as my next audiobook.
Love the cover for All the Ever Afters! Here’s my WWW post.

Happy Thursday! 🤗 Congratulations on finishing four books last week! You read a few of my favorite books this week.
I love rereading the Harry Potter books every few years since they’re a comfort read for me too and loves The Sun Is Also A Star. However, I’ve been trying to read Yoon’s newest book, Instructions For Dancing isn’t working for me for the very reasons you mentioned disliking The Sun Is Also A Star.
School started last week and I’ve been struggling to finish reading any books. I talk about it more in my newest WWW Wednesday post:
I hope you have a wonderful week!
